2015 Opportunities


All applications must be received by Saturday, November 15th 2014 by midnight Pacific time.

Fellowship Projects
For this fellowship, you must apply to a specific research project. The 2015 Research Opportunities provide detailed descriptions of availabile projects. Please review these prior to applying.

This program is open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents from "health disparity" communities who are 3rd/4th/5th-year undergraduates, master's students and doctoral students at U.C. Berkeley. You must be enrolled in classes for the entire Spring 2015 semester in order to be eligible. If you are planning to graduate in Spring 2015, you are only eligible if you will be available to participate in certain on-campus research and training activities in Fall 2015. All applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

For the purposes of this program, the U.S.  Government has defined members of health disparity communities as follows: African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, Alaskan Natives and Native Hawaiians.

Applicants from rural health disparity backgrounds are also eligible to apply. To demonstrate that you are from a rural background, enter your home address on the Rural Assistance Center's "Am I Rural " website: A report with your rural designation will be generated. Submit the report with your application.
