Targeting Neglected Diseases Competition

Deadline: November 27, 2009
CEND sponsors a community research competition each year to identify new drug targets for neglected diseases. Groups at Berkeley, UC San Francisco and Stanford University are all eligible to participate. The next competition will be held in December 2009. Check back soon for additional details.

The winner of the competition has their drug target screened against a library of small molecules maintained by the Small Molecule Discovery Center at UCSF. Any new drugs resulting from the screening will follow Berkeley's socially responsible licensing policy, which ensures access to life-saving medicines for people in developing countries.
